A homeless shelter in upstate New York is getting a big boost from a major bank.
The KeyBank Foundation has allocated $450,000 to A Tiny Home for Good, reports the Syracuse Post-Standard.
The nonprofit will use the money to expand its care management program, which has helped the shelter house dozens of formerly homeless people over the last few years.
The shelter expects to house 44 more people in 2025 than it does now, and they'll either be able to leave or be re-housed in other affordable housing.
"It's the key to the long-term success of their formerly homeless tenants remaining stably housed," says the executive director of A Tiny Home for Good.
KeyBank, meanwhile, is investing a total of $1 million in several non-profit organizations in Central New York to support workforce development and community initiatives.
